The lower eyelids are one of the first areas of your face to show signs of aging. The eyelid skin is extremely thin and susceptible to the forces of gravity, genetics, and sun damage. In youth, we have a smooth contour from the lower lash line to the cheeks. As we age, this smooth transition from the lower eyelashes to the upper cheeks gives way to hills and valleys. The cheeks also age and descend, exposing the bony rim of our eyes, creating a hollowed, skeletonized appearance to your face. These changes may make you appear older and more fatigued than you really are! This patient came to see Dr. Aiello complaining of all of the above issues. She wanted back her smooth youthful under eye contour! He performed a lower eyelid lift (Lower Blepharoplasty) to restore her entire under eye area. She was so pleased she had minimal bruising during her short healing time and was back to work in a week. She's pictured here 2.5 months after her procedure, looking rejuvenated and feeling confident.
